Persona

Right after the onboarding meeting, my manager sent email and assigned the work to me. It was about preparing mobile research work for the company. At that time, my knowledge of the company just about a QMS product targeting the enterprise customers.

The only given information is nothing. I don't know who are the primary users, what are their use cases. The marketing team only has the buyer personas. So I started to work on the user personas. Couple quality-related people educated me about the user roles for the quality system so I can have a better understanding of the power users and its workflow.

I scheduled some interviews with corporate quality managers to understand their typical day at work, how they interact with a QMS software, and the possible use cases. Based on the available information, I started with the archetype supplementing with the practical scenario and interactions. Besides, the indication of habits and favorite apps from my interview data, I made the guy alive.

All right, this quality manager is called Micah. After I know about Micah, I am wondering how he thinks about our product. Does he have any growing pain? Does he feel happy when he uses our product? In order to answer this question, a journey map is necessary. Again, interviews are required to gain more insights about how a quality manager works in the office as well as in a plant.

After I organized data and found patterns, I started to develop Micah's journey map.
